Our Wedding

Let me start by saying that our big day was filled with magical moments .The memory of which still lingers on in our thoughts and will continue to do so for many years to come . After considering other venues we decided to have a look at Olivello . The moment we arrived we knew that this was going to be the setting of our special day. We immediately went about booking the venue and with the advice of the owners , decided on the 12th May . Not long afterward we heard Olivello now had new owners . This left us a bit disappointed as we did not know if we were going to receive the same service from the new owners . We soon set up a meeting with the manager ,Carmen . All I can say is ,I was totally blown away . Carmen is a very kind hearted , talkative and accommodating person . In short ,she’s a manager of note . We immediately felt welcome and after listening to our ideas , she gave us ideas of her own . Things we didn’t even consider .Our excitement grew with every idea she shared with us . We could , with much anticipation ,leave there, feeling a sense of relief coupled with immense excitement . The entire wedding party spent the night before the wedding at Marianne Wine Estate ,and I would highly recommend it . The day arrived and I was awestruck at everything I saw . The décor that was painstakingly set up by our wedding planner, the colours of the leaves on the vineyards, the tranquillity and the absolutely amazing food . The sweet potato soup was by far the best soup I ever had, the lamb shanks were perfectly cooked, falling off the bone at the slightest touch and the crème brulee was heaven in a bowl. We could not have chosen a more beautiful setting for our special day. The beauty of the surroundings, the picturesque landscape with row after row of colourful vines, the lake surrounded by trees, the warm cosy mediterranean style of the restaurant, was only overshadowed by the sight of my beautiful bride. My bride arrived in a tractor which was something different  and suffice to say I was struggling with a lump in my throat. But everything went off smoothly. We managed to secure the services of the best photographer in Cape Town, Claire Gunn and every magical moment was captured on film.The pictures were captured professionally and in good taste ,which coincided with every aspect of our special day. If I could do it all again, I would, and I wouldn’t change a thing .
